Martin Lopez Biography



As a consummate leader, Martin has been involved in entrepreneurial ventures for the past 18 years. He is currently the managing partner of this 50 year old Hispanic health and wellness retail company, which is based in East Los Angeles. Martin has long been involved with Herbs of Mexico as a customer; an employee; and now as its President/CEO. He attributed his deep interest in the Company from his mother's weekly visits to the Herb Store. During his childhood, she would make this hour long cross-town trip on public transportation with Martin (and sister) in tow. Later on in his life, he would have several stints consulting and working for the small store. Martin became majority partner of Herbs of Mexico in 2006.


He is very involved in community service engagements. In the mid 1990s, he had the opportunity to co-chair and organize the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce's annual Foster Family Picnic, held for 5,000 foster children in Los Angeles County. Currently, Marty is participating in a health and wellness education program within the Los Angeles Unified School District teaching children about traditional uses of Hispanic herbs and remedies. Martin recently became a Junior Achievement Volunteer, offering motivational speaking and mentoring opportunities for young entrepreneurs. He also volunteers his time assisting in fundraising efforts with the Los Angeles Police Department, Central Area Division, Community Relations Office.Quality leadership has always been paramount to Martin.
Martin earned a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA in 1991 and received his Executive MBA from Loyola Marymount University in 2006.
